Trend Spotlight: Gig Posters

I am in awe of the amount of work that goes into a gig poster. Concept, design, drawing, printing. Then someone has to hang them all over town. It is hard work, but luckily not a lost art. To prove it, we have more than a handful of gig poster designers joining us for Crafty Bastards this Saturday at Union Market.

Local Fire Studio is run by Anthony Dihle. Color, story, vibrancy take priority in Fire's work. Be sure to check him out in booth #22.

El Jefe Design is also back at the fair this year. All concert posters are legit posters done for real bands for real shows with a focus on DC venues. Booth #117.

Itty Bitty Press (booth #42) is a husband-and-wife screen printing team who designs and illustrates gigposters, art prints, and apparel by hand. We combine traditional techniques with modern subjects and a healthy dose of pop sensibility to create work that is both affordable and highly accessible.

The 9th annual Crafty Bastards Arts & Crafts Fair will be held Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 in Washington, D.C. We’re moving this year to Union Market!
