Vendor Spotlight: Alternate Histories

I don’t know about you, but I have really grown to love D.C. since I moved here.  It’s just the perfect mix of American history and quirky pop culture that gives me pride in my adopted hometown. Which is exactly why I’m absolutely in love with the amazing and offbeat prints from Alternate Histories (Booth # 52 at the fair).

Whether it’s the robot standing witness to history in Constitution Hall or a serpent deftly destroying a steamship racing down the Mississippi— artist Matthew Buchholz brings some sci-fi smarts to the crafty arts in his offbeat prints.  The Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge and the Washington Monument all fall victim to an epic fate worthy of a classic pulp novel—one that you will proudly hang on your wall to share with the world.'

Among his other offerings are some pretty fantastic greeting cards, including some that I’d be incredibly happy to receive –I’d probably frame them.  Robo-Santa? Serpent sleigh-rides? King Kong as Kris Kringle? Yes please! May I have some more?

He also offers some cool original art, like framed records with satirical labels featuring songs like ‘Run For Your Life (Into My Arms)’ and ‘The Living Dead Shuffle.’ A great holiday gift for the undead on your Christmas list this year.

So make a beeline and check out what he has to offer. I have a feeling Alternate Histories will catch you by happily by surprise.
