Gift Guide: Supplies to Give for Making

If you have a friend who is crafty, maybe supplies to create something is more up his or her alley than receiving a pre-made gift. From knitters to scrapbookers, there are all sorts of supplies to buy at Crafty Bastards this year.

Gioconda Padovan Atelier Grafico

If you know any friends that are paper artists or do scrapbooking then make sure to stop by Gioconda Padovan Atelier Grafico. These rubber stamp sets are from original drawings and all come with a story behind their origin. They come in small sets up to collections as big as 22 stamps. The bigger sets come with an illustrated silkscreened box to house them as shown above.

Folktale Fibers

For all your knitter, crocheter and other fiber artist friends make sure to pay a visit to the Folktale Fibers booth. You'll find yarns "…made from local and sustainable fibers, including luxury fiber from [her] own small herd of pygora goats." Also for sale are batts for spinning or felting and fiber animal themed knitting project bags.

My Paper Crane

If you have friends handy with a sewing machine then some fabric from My Paper Crane is a great gift. My Paper Crane says, "I create my own fabric, and cross stitch patterns of things that make me happy like smiling nuns and pumpkin headed people." See a sample of fabric from My Paper Crane above.

The Small Object

The rubber stamps from The Small Object will add a little something extra to any paper project. She says the "collection inspires you to create your own handmade pieces using wooden block stamps — the perfect beginning craft project for any age." New this year are the packaging of stamp sets in paper pulp containers that are fully biodegradable, as seen above.
