  1. Marni Frankel Says:

    Paula,

If you’re interested, the Marimekko Silver Spring store has opened its space to knitters and quilters. Take a look at the events we currently have in place; if an idea pops into your head — it doesn’t need to neatly fit what you read below — and/or you wish to come on by and meet us, just drop me an email at frankelmarni@marimekkowashingtondc.com.

Anyhow, this is how we are currently using the store (in addition to starting some intro-to-knitting classes as well): “Whether you’re new to knitting, a beginner, or have been a member of a knitting group for years, Marimekko Silver Spring is a great place to meet and socialize with like-minded souls.

Our Marimekko meeting space is a light-filled setting in a vibrant store filled with fabrics, home accessories and, of course, yarn and supplies. There is a monthly fee of $12 per person for unlimited use of our space and roundtable. We provide the coffee and tea; you bring your knitting projects, friends and the gift of gab with an added bonus of not having to coordinate whose house, what time or how many will come.

Open sessions, which begin Wednesday, March 5th, 2008, are held Mondays, 10 am -12 pm and Wednesdays and Thursdays, 6:00-7:30 pm. We plan to initiate instructional groups, too. Please register in advance. You may also contact Maria at 301-565-4705 for more information.”

    Warm regards,
    Marni
