A perplexing “TBA” spot usually sits on the tail end of Fort Reno’s schedule each year. Often, that spot goes to The Evens or another D.C. legacy group (long-awaited Fugazi reunion? We keep dreaming). But this year, The Evens opened the series, and no “TBA” appeared on the schedule. Instead, we got Paint Branch, the duo featuring former Q and Not U bandmates Chris Richards and John Davis. The pair may be the perfect closing act: Their breezy, ’70s folk-inspired jams are best digested on a crisp summer evening, sprawled out on a grassy field. Their set is sure to be a mellow coda after the opening set from Quiverd, a trio of raucous 11-year-old garage punks. Pack your picnic basket, gather your friends, and trek out to Tenleytown one last time. Just remember to be punctual: At Fort Reno, bedtime comes swiftly.

Paint Branch performs with Quiverd at 7:15 p.m. at Fort Reno Park, Chesapeake Street and Nebraska Avenue NW. Free. fortreno.com.
