The damned West Coast media has won lost the morning (even if it is afternoon already) with this scoop: DCPS Chancellor Michelle Rhee and Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson will be getting married Labor Day weekend—about two weeks before the primary that will likely determine where Rhee will be working/not working in the near future. And designer Monique Lhuillier will be making Rhee's wedding dress.

Just in case you don't know who Lhuillier is (LL did, of course, but then, LL is très fashion-forward), here's her bio, courtesy of KCRA-TV reporter Lynsey Paulo:

"She designed the wedding gown worn by country singer Carrie Underwood, and also designed gowns for Britney Spears and Sara Gore, the daughter of former vice president Al Gore."

Now that the Britney Spears of national elections has gone back to Wasilla, we as a culture are back on the real thing. And she knows it. And she's coming to Verizon Center March 24 (via the Examiner).

I admit to sitting through most of Britney's MTV docudrama this week (brought to you commercial-free and sponsored, oddly enough, by Curious, Britney's perfume). As it turns out, Britney unplugged and shilling herself by showing us how tortured she is to shill herself: not all that fascinating. However, Britney, the embodiment of grits-eating Barbies? Totally somewhat interesting. Tickets pre-fee go from $39.50 to $128. Who's going?
