The former D.C. cop who was charged in 2013 with two counts of pandering a minor—-or forcing a minor into prostitution—-was sentenced to seven years in prison today. Linwood Barnhill Jr., 48, pleaded guilty to those two counts and one count of possession of child pornography in June.

Upon completing his sentence, Barnhill will be placed on 10 years of supervised release and must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, U.S. Attorney Ron Machen announced.

On Dec. 3 2013, Metropolitan Police Department officers landed at Barnhill’s D.C. residence during a search for a missing 16 year-old girl. The girl, according to an affidavit, said the officer had taken nude photos of her on his phone and told her he had arranged a “date” for her to have sexual activities with an older man for $80. Barnhill would then collect $20. The girl said she visited his apartment a number of times and met six other women whom he was also prostituting.

Police had also interviewed a 15-year-old who said Barnhill asked if she would “escort” for him. She says, according to the affidavit, that she informed him she was only 15, to which Barnhill replied that her “young age was not a problem because he had other minors who worked for him.”

Law enforcement also identified a 17-year-old female who met Barnhill two months before his arrest in October. He brought the female into his bedroom, took photos of her clothed and unclothed, and filmed her with his phone while she performed oral sex on him. Officials later seized his phone and recovered the video.

Barnhill has been in custody since his arrest last December.
