The Needle: Young and Reckless

Big Spending: More than 30 percent of millennials living in Maryland and Virginia buy fast food at least twice per week, according to a study by Level Money. (And yes, for purposes of this study anyway, Chipotle is considered a fast food joint.) In Virginia, they spent an average of $971 a year on fast food; in Maryland, they spent $967, ranking D.C.'s neighbors as the fourth and fifth states, respectively, where millennials spend the most money on fast food. -4

The Blues: Just how bad is the Silver Line for Blue Line commuters? Bad, but not terrible. A WAMU reporter spent an hour on the Rosslyn Metro platform during rush hour yesterday to monitor the congestion and found that fewer Blue Line trains generally means more crowded trains. But, in some cases, there is actually room for additional passengers if people just spaced out and entered the end cars. -2

#TBT: Ted's Bulletin on 14th Street NW now has homemade Ho-Hos. +1

Rain on Our Parade: Cherish this un-summer-like beautiful weather, because it's not going to last forever. In fact, it may not even last through the night. There's a 30 percent chance of rain tonight. Tomorrow, temperatures will be in the mid-80s with a more than 50 percent chance of rain in the afternoon. -3
