The Needle: Shack Attack

Presidential Eats: President Barack Obama ate at Shake Shack's Dupont location today. It made for a good photo op, but perhaps the Secret Service should have done some more thorough research. The latest May health inspection report of the establishment showed less than stellar results, with some mold in the refrigerator, as dogged restaurant inspection reporter Russ Ptacek of WUSA pointed out. There were, however, no signs of rodents or rodent droppings, so the president was probably safe. -2

Bad Luck: There has been measurable rain on five of the last ten annual Bike to Work Days and at least a trace of rain on seven of them. That, according to Capital Weather Gang, puts Bike to Work Day's rain rate at 55 percent above the norm. Guess what fell all morning today? -3

Suck it, Trebek: Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek unabashedly doesn't think there's anything wrong with the Washington football team's name. -4

Biking of the Future: D.C.'s Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library has 3D printers on which residents can print bike accessories—or anything, really—on the cheap. +2
