LivingSocial PulseWatch: Website Down for More Than 24 Hours

This is part of an ongoing series monitoring the fluctuating pulse of D.C.'s very own online coupon company, LivingSocial.

LivingSocial isn't quite making money, its online traffic is declining, and now its website is down, which isn't doing anything to help their revenue or traffic woes.

The online-coupon company's website hasn't been working since Tuesday, and a visit only alerts people that it is "temporarily down for maintenance." (Washington City Paper also sells online coupons.)

In a blog post, the company says the website will be up and running "as soon as possible" and that the outage is a result of an internal error, assuring customers that their personal information has not been compromised.

In the meantime, all email distributions and promotions have been suspended.

In the wake of the outage, Slate has called on the cash-strapped online coupon company to "pull the plug rather than sucking up another $110 million in life support."
