Man Accused of Shooting Sean Taylor Says He Didn’t Do It

The man accused of pulling the trigger and killing Washington football star Sean Taylor in 2007 took the witness stand during his murder trial today and said not only did he not kill Taylor, but he wasn't even in the house during the botched armed robbery that left the player dead.

Eric Rivera has already confessed to the murder, but, according to the Miami Herald, was trying to convince the jury the cops coerced the confession out of him.

In November 2007, Rivera and a group of friends, all teenagers at the time, drove from Fort Myers to Miami to rob the football star's house. They expected Taylor to be out of town, but he wasn't, and Taylor was ultimately shot and killed.

The Herald reports that Rivera said he didn't know the plan was to rob Taylor's house, and stayed in the car during the entire robbery. Rivera testified Venjah Hunte pulled the trigger. Hunte is the only one in the group of teens that has pleaded guilty.
