The Needle: Yup, It’s Hot Edition

Under the Dome: That unpleasant feeling you got if you made the mistake of venturing outside today will continue most of this week, thanks to what forecasters call a "heat dome" that's landed on top of the Mid-Atlantic. The good news: Last year, we had more heat waves like this. The bad news: It's still going to feel like it's over 100 degrees. -4

Brand New Uline: The site of the Beatles first U.S. concert, Joe Louis' pro boxing debut, and Dwight Eisenhower's first inaugural will soon become a mixed-use development with offices, retail, and parking. Douglas Development just got permits for interior demolition at Uline Arena, the first step toward rehabbing the property. Maybe next time he comes to town, Paul McCartney can do a show on the roof for old times' sake. +2

Manic Pixie Dream Bar: A new bar in Dupont Circle will feature a throne, walkie-talkies, "angry hour," and three varieties of Smirnoff Ice. -3

Don't Have a Cow, Man: In Fairfax County, a cow escaped from a farm and charged three police officers. No word on how traffic on the Dulles Toll Road was affected. -1
