Bagel-Centric Dating Site Launches Tomorrow

If it's a weekday, it must be time for a new service finding romantic matches for the city's busy, tech-savvy, and well-heeled. And here we are:

Coffee Meets Bagel caters to the DC audience by breaking the stigma of traditional online dating sites with its fresh, disruptive approach. Unlike traditional dating sites that require members to spend hours filling out questionnaires and sifting through profiles, Coffee Meets Bagel asks a few light questions and provides a daily match (or “Bagel”) based on its members’ friends-of-friends on Facebook.

What could be more romantic than calling your date a bagel? The site, which launches tomorrow in Washington, also has a video explaining what is going on with its elaborate dating system (there's a virtual currency called "Coffee Beans").

At least the free service isn't requiring daters to pay one another or have a degree from a top-tier school. Still, Coffee Meets Bagel earns demerits for pandering to the vore demographic.
