Yes, You Can Instagram Your Ballot
Rejoice, Twitteratos: taking pictures of your ballot in the District, like this guy did, isn't illegal, according to the Citizen Media Law Project. Unlike seven states, D.C. doesn't have a law forbidding photography in polling places.
Which doesn't mean your path to likes and Instagram hearts is totally clear, if you really have to take a picture of your ballot. Some voting sites around town have signs prohibiting cell phone use, and the Citizen Media Law Project cautions that polling officials can decide that photography qualifies as an illegal intimidation of voters and ban it.
