First Non-Ironic Use of “Hate-Chicken” Reported

Following Sally Quinn's first crack at Chick-fil-A, Post columnist Petula Dvorak has finally gotten around to the chain's gay marriage controversy and found a scoop: Someone other than Mayor Vince Gray and his Twitter minions actually says "hate-chicken." And not as a joke about Vince Gray!

Dvorak's discovery comes during the kind of well-spoken, anonymous party whence her columns often spring. Two of the partygoers love Chick-fil-A's sandwiches, but also love gay marriage (emphasis added):

“I don’t know what to do about it. I mean, I guess I can go through the drive-thru where no one will see me,” one woman said.

“It doesn’t matter if anyone sees you there. It’s about helping them fund hate groups by buying their hate-chicken,” another responded.

Mayor Vince Gray: mayor, father, target of a federal investigation, and now, forger of memes.

If companies are people and people vote with dollars then the destination of the restaurant’s donations are open for public debate. It very well should be an issue as to where peoples’ hard-earned money goes after the chicken goes down their gullet. This issue has made our little feathered friend the modern martyr as Chick-fil-A laughs all the way to the bank. Watch the poultry be nailed to the cross and pierced by the spear of destiny at the hands of those devious cows on my artist’s blog at

Typical rich liberal acting concerned about a non-issue. They don't agree with someone's point of view, so they have to label things "hate this" and "hate that".

How about labeling themselves vapid busy-bodies with their useless concerns because they have too much time on their hands and can't think of something better to get upset about in Chevy Chase.

Why won't the media give Gray a break? Why is the City Paper full of biased assholes who think their "witty" blog humor is hilarious and don't give a shit about how poisonous they are toward the city and it's people?

    Typical DC BS & Nana,

    Absolutely right!

Regardless of politics, "hate chicken" is just so gash-durned catchy! I say it regularly in a bid to get the relatives to pick it up - which is funny, because many of our get-togethers feature this now-famed poultry. ; )

Was reminded of real issues this morning. As I was sipping some coffee by the Harris Teeter at 1st & M NE this morning waiting to go to a meeting nearby, a young pregnant woman asked for some money for food. Gave her the last $4 in cash I had on me and wondered what she would "really" use it for.

Saw her a couple minutes later eating a sandwich from Harris Teeter - she saw me and thanked me for helping her out.

Wished I had more money to give her. Made me realize how good I have it.
