American Prospect to Stay Open for Now

After a month and a half of frantic fundraising, lefty D.C. policy magazine The American Prospect has landed more than $1.2 million in donations and will stay open.

But that doesn't mean all is well! Editor Kit Rachlis tells the Huffington Post's Michael Calderone that he's going to work with the magazine's publisher to figure out a "sustainable business model" to avoid more money problems.

If Rachlis knows what he's doing, that new business model will include making the magazine less of the snoozefest it has been over the past few years (current top story on their site: "A Paralyzed G-20"), even as rival liberal mags like Mother Jones have gotten into reader-bait like Game of Thrones super-PAC ads.
