His treatment of Michael Jordan was deplorable. Yeah, he built the Verizon Center but the city paid for hundreds of millions of dollars of infrastructure. Then the city paid a few hundred million dollars for the renovations a few years ago - & got the luxury box for Fenty & the council in return. No. Abe Pollin was not great, nor was he good. No! Abe put Largo on the map. When the Capital Centre opened in 1973, it was located in the unknown town of Largo. By the end of the decade,and without moving the building they changed the address to the much sexier Landover. AWESOME TRIVIA: the Capital Centre is one of two major sports facilities that moved to Landover without ever moving, since Dan Snyder took Jack Kent Cooke Stadium out of Largo and moved into Landover with FedExField.
