Sgt. John Allen Muhammad, US Army, Gulf War Vet. The US taught him to kill, then threw him out with the garbage. Veterans’ Day? Right. Ask Sgt. Muhammad.

Born John Allen Williams in New Orleans, Louisiana, Muhammad enlisted in the Louisiana Army National Guard in 1978 and, after seven years of service, volunteered for active duty in 1985. In 1987 he joined the Nation of Islam. While in the Army, Muhammad was trained as a mechanic, truck driver and specialist metalworker. He qualified with the Army's standard infantry rifle the M16, earning the Expert Rifleman's Badge. This rating is the Army's highest of three levels of marksmanship for a basic soldier. He was discharged from military service following the Gulf War, as a sergeant, in 1994.

Although I want to see King Fenty voted out of office, I don't know if D.C. Council Chairman Vincent Gray is a good choice. Gray has shown poor leadership Chairing the Council of the District of Columbia. He hasn't been a Linda W. Cropp. Cropp wasn't people person, but she knew how to govern and Chair the D.C. Council. If I had a choice between Gray and King Fenty, I will vote for Gray. King Fenty is very vindictive and hold grudges against others who don't agree with his views. King Fenty's behavior reminds me of D.C. At-Large Councilmember David Catania. This is another hateful mean spirited monster.

Between 1930 and 1996, 4,220 prisoners were executed in the US; more than half (53%) were black. Between 1930 and 1976, 455 men were executed for rape, of whom 405 – 90 percent – were black.

Of the 313 persons executed between January 1977 and 1995, 36 had been convicted of killing a black person while 249 (80%) had killed a white person. Of the 178 white defendants executed, only three had been convicted of murdering people of color.

A recent study of the death penalty in Texas shows that the current capital punishment system is an outgrowth of the racist "legacy of slavery." An exhaustive statistical study of racial discrimination in capital cases in Georgia, for example, showed that "the average odds of receiving a death sentence among all indicted cases were 4.3 times higher in cases with white victims."
