A well reasoned deconstruction and demystification of a story that creates its own mythology. A few random observations. I hate the word "charticle." Perhaps the source of Henry Allen's anger is really the Post's "improved" weather page. The Stuever piece on Sheetz vs. WaWa is my favorite newspaper feature of the year. The opening sentence of the 2nd to last paragraph of your essay provided excellent symmetry to the piece.
