Downtown Rez, call BS all you want. Here are the facts and Ms. Siddall is encouraged to refute them.

Ms. Siddall is the secretary of dc school reform now, a pro Rhee group.

Ms. Siddall had two kids at Ross, the eldest was in 5th grade. His teacher was riffed on October 2, on October 5 Ms. Siddall pulled her 5th grader out of Ross and put him in a charter school.

No big deal if Ms Siddall had bothered to include this in her op-ed piece. She left this out and even took a shot or two at her son's riffed teacher. Problem is she kept her son at Ross solely because he was going to have that teacher this year. When the teacher was riffed and rheeplaced by a younger brand new rheeplacement teacher, rather than see it through and watch the rheeforms first hand, she pulled her son out of Ross.

Doing what is best for ones child is fine, but to continue the rhetoric as she has in her op-ed piece, is just a wee bit hypocritical, don’t you think?

My point is Ms. Siddall used her op-ed piece to paint a portrait at Ross that is inaccurate and she deliberately left out information about her own situation that would have discredited her and dc school reform now.

Ross used to be a great school, now it's nothing more than free day care for wealthy DuPont circle are kids until they are ready for private school. What's left after 3rd grade at Ross looks a hell of lot different demographically wise then what's there in pre k and kindergarten.

I call BS.

Ross is an excellent school. I doubt you can find a single Ross parent who would say otherwise.

What's your point, and can you back it up with anything solid?

"Ross ES parent, in WaPo op-ed, says she was glad to see teachers RIF’d. Writes Mary Siddall, ......"

If Mary Siddall was happy with the recent RIFs at Ross ES as you column says, then why on the Monday after the RIF did she pull her oldest kid out of Ross in put him in a charter school?

Seems that her oldest kid was taught by one of the RIF'ed teachers and when Mary saw that her kid was no longer going to be taught by that teacher, but by a RHEEplacement teacher, she pulled her kid out of Ross and put him in a charter school. I thought the RHEEformers want this kind of change? Oh unless it happens to one of their own kids.

Don't know whey she forgot to mention this in her WAPO OP-Ed piece.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

* During the "outlawed Hartsock's" short, six-month tenure at DPR, she illegally funneled over $30 million in taxpayers' dollars to Fenty's frat buddy-Omar Karim of BANNEKER VENTURES.

* That's a $5 million a month give-a-way to Fenty's "friends and family plan" at the expense of residents that have a vested interest in the city; and, who are not recent implants--as is the case with Hartsock and her "transition team" of Midwesterners.

* Under the leadership of the "outlawed Hartsock" and her "transition team," 11 full-time, Project Managers surf the internet all day on the--GOVERNMENT's DIME--due to her contracting their work to Fenty's frat buddy-- Omar Karim of Banneker Ventures.

* Under the leadership of the "outlawed Hartsock" and her “transition team," small businesses that sub-contract with DPR have to pay Fenty's frat buddy, Omar Karim of Banneker Ventures, a 9% extortion, MAFIA STYLE FEE--to do business with the government of District of Columbia.

Under the leadership of the "outlawed Hartsock," she openly and notoriously terminated most of DPR’s African Americans in MSS positions, that out preformed Hartsock's "transition team" of overpaid, underachievers from DCPS.

Hartsock's unjust, mass firing of experienced, veteran employees was based solely on her veiled racist beliefs that African Americans are only capable cleaning toilets at DPR.

Hartsock, who earns more than any other director in the history of DPR--$165,000 per yr--and her incompetent group of "transition cronies," illegally earning as much as $120,000 per yr. as starting salaries at DPR, have and continue to exploit taxpayers of the District of Columbia.

What the constituents have learned, Hartsock is a legal liability to the District of Columbia, and if the council doesn't demand her and the transition teams' RESIGNATIONS--the feds will come a knocking!

There is definitely, "fire in the minds of men” and residents are fueled with disdain and contempt for Fenty’s dictatorship and the council’s inability to exhort its governing authority!

HARTSOCK MUST GO!!!!

You are absolutely right, Facts Matter.

LL confused Norwood, who is a straight ex-Republican, with Houston comptroller Annise Parker, who is gay and a Democrat. She will also be facing a runoff.

The sentence has been corrected above. Mea maxima culpa.

LL: Please issue a correction regarding Mary Norwood, candidate for Mayor of Atlanta. Mrs. Norwood has been married to an Atlanta pediatrician for 25 years. Check out the photo gallery with a picture of her husband here:http://projects.ajc.com/gallery/view/metro/atlanta/norwoodelex1109/11.html

If anybody would be familiar with the "low road" it would be Chuck Thies, Jim Graham's new "bagman".

No wonder Jimmy boy is so hyper sensitive about even the suggestion of money laundering what with Loza's plea deal still up in the air and all.

Bullock gets out of jail and moves to the Watergate, how interesting.

You steal $5 million from the city & serve 5 years; steal $20 from 7-11 & serve 20 years: Crime & Punishment in America ca. 2009.

This country has its priorities completely cluster-fucked. The Almighty Dollar, King & God of America, is everything. The petty bourgeoisie and proletariat are lulled into inanity by the propaganda churned out by Hollywood.

It's all the fault of Hollywood. Gramschi's Cultural Hegemony Theory teaches us that the propaganda put out by a nation's mass-culture industry/machine determines the "needs & wants" of its populace. Ergo, Hollywood teaches us to need & want new cars, fast food, soft drinks, beer, etc.

It's a sad & pathetic coda. I am pleased that the White Right Wing won yesterday: their cruel form of Fascism will bring the true Revolution here more rapidly.

Marx forever! Viva Gramschi!
