The only way to return transparency back to the District government is to find an executive that respects the rule of law, who will make appointments based on professional competence and push to make the attorney general a position elected by the people. That Peter Nichols is in the press playing political games says to me that if that is the way an attorney general is going to behave, then they should be answerable to "THE PEOPLE" whose interest the an attorney general is supposed to protect, even when they are contrary to the executive (Mayor).

Maser Fenty and his lawn jockey Nichols are the amazing idiots running the DC goverment, without regards to the rule of law. Even if the Council had not approved lawn jockey Nichols as AG, maser fenty would of appointed him anyway, illegally.

Ditto. The Council only have themselves to blame for the legal castration that they are being given.

They had their opportunity to send this Carpetbagger back to Great Falls so now he sees himself as having free license to bastardize and misinterpret D.C. Law and spit into the fact of every law abiding citizen in the District.

I am, however, very surprised that Catania lashed back at the executives general counsel posturing as the District's Attorney General.
