The District's defense in the school teacher layoffs is not going to fly. If employers were allowed to do what DC did, there would be no point in having any employment anti-discrimination laws. Employers could just hire extra people, then fire all the black people, union members, women, whomever.

So, Pete "My Cracker" Nickles, find a new strategy, or, smarter, settle this ASAP. Your defense - ‘layoffs caused by budget considerations are not subject to arbitration and that the court’s reversal of the dismissals would be an unwarranted interference with the executive powers’ of Fenty and Rhee - just ain't gonna fly, dude.

100% tax on all private school tuition - NCS, St. Alban's, Sidwell Friends, Maret, Georgetown Visitation, Holy Trinity, all the international schools, all private schools - including colleges: Georgetown, GW, Howard, Catholic, Harvard, Yale, Stanford, etc.

Where is the FBI on the scams run on the AIDS money & Fenty's frat brothers? We need a local prosecutor, independent & elected, to ensure that our money is not stolen. A local FBI like all other states would be good as well.

What good reason could the Mayor and Chancellor have for NOT meeting with the new President of UDC? Other than ego trippin'? Is not UDC a great transition for DCPS students not necessarily prepared for traditional 4 year colleges? Why aren't they seen as a "partner" in student development by the Mayor and Chancellor? Is it because the Mayor doesn't have power, other than board selection, over the university? Fenty's behavior of late is outrageous and unbecoming of a an executive of any sort.
