What's interesting to me is that at a recent Online News Association conference, Jim Brady stressed NOT re-purposing content as "platform agnostic". They're planning on hiring a staff of 50. I don't think they'll just regurgitate NC8/WJLA conent. I think a BIG part of their strategy will be mobil applications Also interesting to me is that all of this is being framed as "Post-Killer". Truth is, this will have an impact on all local media.

The part that I'm skeptical about is how incredibly shitty the WJLA and NC8 websites are right now. Moreover, I just don't think of WJLA as having any sort of a track record of being anything but a typical "10 things that are killing your children, after the movie" sort of outfit. Unless they can steal some beat reporters from WaPo or the Examiner, I just don't see them producing any sort of interesting content.
