NBC-4 Takes On Nickles’ Sexism With Sexist Headline
Leave it to NBC-4 (or if you prefer WRC-TV), operators of the worst local news site, to slap a story with some real news value with a sexist headline. The station follows the Nickles-Cheh story with a piece headlined: "D.C. Catfight!"
First Nickles referred to Cheh as an angry woman. Now, a local news channel throws up another sexist cliche. Wendy Rieger needs to start a protest. Wait, is she still working there?
The story's first graph is just as lame (typo included):
"D.C. Attorney General Peter Nickles readlly did it this time. He's uncovering the hellish fury of a scorned woman, after his comments last week about D.C. council member Mary Cheh (D-Ward 3)."
All of this sweet prose is just a way to give us the news that Councilmember Kwame Brown has called on Nickles to apologize:
"Councilmember Cheh deserves an immediate apology from Peter Nickles for calling her an ‘angry woman’ and saying her comments were ‘stupid.’ This is just another example of how the Attorney General has stepped over the line and stooped to the lowest levels. Councilmember Cheh is a respected lawyer and professor whose opinion about the law I have the utmost respect. She is fulfilling her responsibility to ensure the integrity of government."

That's the problem with the NBCWashington site. It's a typical local blog, and all the snark and lowered expectations that that entails. But it operates under the same brand as the television outlet. I think it's a nationwide effort by NBC affiliates to seem more edgy and relevant, but it doesn't work in my opinion.

Cheh and Nickles are both accomplished lawyers and, until recently, carried themselves with dignity and civility. My vote goes to the whoever picks up the phone first and calls the other. As for Kwame, get lost. Cheh can handle herself.

Look, we all know Nickles is gangsta as hell. He's been bailing out Fenty for years. Anyone remember the fiasco where Fenty, as executor of an estate, robbed it blind. When the heirs found out and almost did the world a huge favor by cutting this clown's career short, Nickles stepped in to bail his ass out. He got discplined by the Bar, rather than disbarred. Anyone else would have been out years ago. Now, they are both milking this City dry. Anyone can see Fenty has national aspirations (maybe Booker's second down the road). It's sad when capable and might I add, super hot, people like Cheh, try to oppose, they get shut down by the the Media.
I always thought Nickles was Fenty's Cheney. I didn't realize that he was much more that this. He's actually the emperor while Fenty's just his darth.

As for the actual story, holy shit, he called her stupid and an angry woman. What the fuck, the balls on this guy. How the hell is he allowed to be out in public without his meds, angry little man.
