I, for one, would like to see a full accounting of how many tax payer dollars have been wasted defending MPD practices that they were repeatedly warned were unconstitutional and would result in lawsuits (checkpoints, Heller, the Pershing Park debacle and subsequent attempts to cover it up, etc.) Maybe the budget situation wouldn't be quite so bad if so many millions hadn't been dedicated to ham-fisted attempts at circumventing the bill of rights by Fenty, Nickles and Lanier

funny.

When the court finds a defendant guilty of breaking the law, they don't get to casually sit at home and surf for a new venue on the taxpayers' dime.

Why the city when it comes to violating the constitutional rights of the public?

I guess Pete "I am the law" Nickes was wrong on this one - again. Give it up, Pete - you lost. Twice. & the Supremes are not going to take this case.

Let's see if Fenty, Nickles, & Cathy Lanier continue to disobey explicit court orders...
