Your reporting of the Caruth tragedy is misleading. The family is not dissatisfied with the Distict of Columbia Parks and Recreation (DPR) staff at Rumsey; they are dissatisfied with the response of the Fenty administration. An email was sent out "on behalf of the DPR acting director" offering condolences, which as a parent, leaves me cold. I would like to hear from the director IN PERSON after a beautiful 15-year old girl dies in a DPR swimming pool.

Now I have enjoyed Mr. Jaffe's book, but some if his writings are just silly. I hope he can back up wh "he heard". Allegations like that have no business being published in any legitimate publication without a source.
