Our Morning Roundup: The Chain Gang

The 42 ventures beyond Mount Pleasant to report that a Smoothie King is opening up in Chinatown: "In a revelation my coworker called "super-sensational smoothie news," Smoothie King will soon Join Clyde's on the Walk, Sushi-Go-Round and Häagen-Dazs. The Smootie King will be located in a stand alone rental space on the south side of the arcade. The stand alone spaces are adjacent to a Chipotle and have been sparsely occupied over the years. I remember a small gift shop occupying one and a flowershop another. There hasn't been a business in either of the spaces for quite a while."

Bloomingdale (for now) offers up some amazing pictures of this past weekend's flooding of Scott Circle.

Frozen Tropics has the final Florida Market Study for download.

Southwest...The Little Quandrant That Could wants Taylor Gourmet to open up a storefront in its 'hood: "I went for the first time today and had the 9th Street Italian hoagie. It was one of the better hoagies I've had in DC. By the way, they also deliver in SW. In the WBJ article, it states that owners Casey Patten and David Mazza are scouting other locations for the concept. Here's a one here in Southwest, perhaps at Waterfront Station. So far, Safeway and CVS are the only two retailers that have committed to open at phase one of Waterfront Station, which is scheduled to be complete during the first half of 2010."
