Barry’s Nonprofits Are Staffed With Ex-Campaign Workers

So Marion Barry funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars to not-quite-organized non-profits. All the nonprofits were founded in his ward. Most of them operate out of his constituent services office on MLK Avenue. In this week's LL column, we probe further into how these non-profits came to exist.
Guess what? All the major players staffing the boards of these non-profits worked for Barry's re-election campaign last year either as paid staffers or volunteers. Clink on the link above to read the full column.

Who is supposed to be shocked by this? Make it clear that if you're on Barry's staff or your sit on the staff of his nonprofits you either:
a) Worked for his non-campaign.
b) You've scored him drugs and kept it a secret (i.e. Anthony Motley, members of Cease Fire and/or Peaceoholics)
c) You're a woman that has screwed either him, Motley and/or H.R. Crawford.

Not a bit surprised. Classic Barry S.O.P. Where's Vince "one city" Gray hiding out? Wouldn't this be a great time to establish a City Council ethics committee? And then leak it to Nikita "I love Gray" Stewart so WAPO would have something to write about? CP's been scooping WAPO reporters so regularly that WAPO's editorial board now quotes CP more often than their own reporters.
