Making Barry the scapegoat, whipping boy regarding misuse of taxpayer funds is par for the course. $20K to a girlfriend is just scratching the surface of the monetary finegling in DC Govt. Look at the folks Fenty hired (or nominated for positions). Look at his trips. Tell me he, nor other councilmembers' haven't hired constituents in a less than ethical way. I'm not saying that Barry's situation shouldn't be looked into, but the media is beating up on Barry like he's the only one that has done it. Quite frankly, Barry's the only one who's been caught worth reporting on! New headline, "Media pressures Council and AG to act swiftly on investigating Barry's Council hires." Fenty once again planning to take credit by announcing the Quick Start Tennis program via a Press Conference is insulting. Kids have been playing tennis at Turkey Thicket, SETLC, and other locations long before Fenty was even interested. Since the 60's DC's been is a Tennis Town, not a Triathlon town. Thanks USTA, non-profit groups and the smart folk in DC Park and Rec for getting more kids excited about tennis.
