Great shot Darrow.
Pulitzer Prize picture. As for the cover: Freedom of the Press. It's not China - it's the USA.
Man, that woman's eyes ... I glad I wasn't the guy she was looking at.
I would've said Pulitzer Prize photo but it's not alliterative.
Best. Cover. Ever.
THE CITY TABLOID.... YOU HAVE GONE WAY TO FAR.. CITY PAPER SUCKS..NO LIMIT JOURNALISM IS NOT JOURNALISM IT IS DISGUSTING. WHAT ABOUT UPHOLDING SOME DIGNITY. EVEN IF YOUR WRITERS AND PHOTOGRAPHERS DON'T MEASURE UP TO GET A JOB AT A REAL AND LEGITIMATE PAPER. IT SHOWS HOW YOU HAVE ACCEPTED ANY LOW STANDARD TO GET ATTENTION. SIMILIAR TO THE HOMOSEXUALS,THAT MOST OF YOUR STAFF ARE,AND THE TABLOIDS WHO WOULDN'T KNOW AND CAN'T ATTRACT GOOD JOURNALISM IF IT LANDED ON THE SHOULDER OF CITY "TRASH" PAPER. PEOPLE SHOULD RETURN THE PAPERS TO YHOUR FRONT AND POUR URINE"PISS" ON ALL OF THEM..HOORAY TO THE HERO THAT TAKE HEED AND HAVE THE GUTS TO CARRY THIS OUT....
Bob, your approach to "upholding some dignity" is somewhat unusual.
THANKS FOR YOUR COMMENT. I WROTE IT TO SHOW THE IRONY BUT I KNOW THIS APPROACH IS EXACTLY WHAT THIS PISS POOR JUDGMENT OF THE EDITOR DESERVES. SOMEONE SHOULD CLOSE LOOSE LIPS FOR A WHILE OR AT LEAST MAKE THEM A LITTLE FATTER SO HE CAN'T TALK SO MUCH. DARROW.SHAME,SHAME,SHAME. WE SHOULD BOYCOTT THE ADVERTISERS OF CITY "TRASH" PAPER. IT IS SO OFFENSIVE TO ALL KINDS OF PEOPLE. BLACK WOMEN,CHILDREN WHO READ THIS SCUM, SENIORS, ANYONE WHO DOESN'T APPRECIATE PUBLIC VULGARITY AT IT'S WORST AND TOTAL DISRESPECT TO A COUNCIL MEMBER AND OFFICIAL OF OUR CITY. NO RESPECT FOR BLACK PEOPLE IN GENERAL BECAUSE IT ATTEMPTS TO DRAW A PARELLEL TO SAY, THAT THIS IS HOW BLACK MEN TREAT BLACK WOMEN. IT PUTS IN THE MIND OF ALREADY CONFUSED BLACK WOMEN, WHO CLING TO WHITE MEN AND OTHERS FOR THE WRONG REASONS, THAT THIS IS WHY THEY SHOULD LEAVE BLACK MEN ALONE. THOUGH I AM NOT ON THE MARION BARRY BANDWAGON ,BAD JUDGMENT TOO- (REMEMBER HE SUPPORTED THE TURNCOAT FENTY) AS A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE, I REALIZE THE IMPACT THAT THIS KIND OF ASSAULT ON HIM,PORTRAYED AS A PERSONAL ATTACK, IS REALLY SUGGESTIVE OF A RACISM AND HATRED DISPLAYED BY AMERICAN SOCIETY AND INFLICTED ON THE BLACK MAN. THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES. I'LL BE GLAD WHEN CITY PAPER GOES IN THE RED AND STAYS THERE. PAPER HELL IS YOUR DESTINY. MAY YOU REACH IT QUICKLY.
Hey, Bob. Lighten up man. I see the blood vessels on your forehead pulsating from here. Ever considered a sense of humor transplant? It would probably be even better for you than Mr. Barry's new kidney is for him.
THERE IS NOTHING FUNNKY ABOUT IT. IT IS VULGAR AND UNNECESSARY TO MAKE THE POINT. CAN YOU SAY OVERKILL. TOO MANY JOKESTERS AND NOT ENOUGH SERIOUS ANALYZERS. ANYONE CAN BE FUNNY. ANY DISTRACTION TO KEEP YOU FOCUSED ON THE REAL ISSUES. LET'S FOCUS ON THE REAL PROBLEMS AND THE REAL ISSUES AND NOT DO THE FENTY AND SAY WE DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT. LET'S BE REAL WHILE WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD.
Sorry, Bob, but "irony" doesn't seem to be your strength.
Second best cover ever - the only better one was the World Bank protesters mooning, about 2002. Can we get a copy of it posted here?
Maybe a vote for the top-five all-time CP covers is a good idea ... or like Rolling Stone, a special issue devoted to the top 50 covers of all time ... it'd be an easy issue to prep ahead of time & have ready to print around a holiday.
BEST of all time: National Lampoon with a picture of adorable dog with a gun pointed at its head. Caption: Buy this magazine, or we kill the dog.
Jason ur the MANN. This story is true, real, and honest. WCP shouldn’t suffer for reporting the uncensored truth. The BS media outlets channel 9 WTOP Washington Times Washington Post etc should shutdown for compromising the full truth. Bob is happy with being fed Sh@*; he seems obsessed with piss for sure? This isn’t a black or white, man or women, gay or straight issue. This story shows once again the poor character and conduct of this entire DC Government from Fenty down. They are all corrupt and wickedly immoral! WCP KEEP REPORTING the DAMM TRUTH.> FYI: Bob most of the DC Government officials, the mayor, his staff, city council etc. are gay. At least WCP staff is not supporting their boys / girl friends / tricks with tax payers’ funds like the fentys, barrys, and harrys of this administration.
yeah I noticed bob's repeated urine references as well.
(I APOLOGIZE HUMBLY TO YOU ALL FOR NOT USING ALL CAPS LIKE SOMEONE WHO ONLY DISCOVERED THE INTERNET FIVE MINUTES AGO AND IS CLUELESS REGARDING USING CAPS, AND APOLOGIZE ALSO FOR FAILING TO RIDE THE CRAZY TRAIN INTO THE WEEDS BY SIMULTANEOUSLY YELLING AT PEOPLE TO STICK TO THE CITY'S REAL ISSUES, WHILE ALSO REFERENCING ADRIAN FENTY, HOMOSEXUALITY, OPPOSITION TO INTERRACIAL DATING, AND/OR URINE.)
Maybe Bob = Robert = R. = R. Kelly?

I have to correct you Bob.
Not just anyone can be funny.
Yes, Peanut, but can anyone be "funnky"?

It's shameful that idiots like this are calling the WCP coverage of Barry racist. It's that kind of ignorance that causes others to ignore legitimate charges of racism elsewhere. For someone to say that the media only exposes this kind of thing when it happens to black politicians shows an enormous lack of knowledge.
Oh Darrow, You do it over and over with such ease.
Bob-bi boy, who let you out of your mother's basement this morning... It's ok, breathe. Redbull and Republicanism does not mix well, I've told you that before. Now, before you come back with a CAPs only vengeance, I have to say that you're absolutely right, the WCP reporting something that was said, unfiltered, is ridiculous. Why are we entitled to knowing this, why are so privileged to garner this tidbit of privacy, meant only to exist between our favorite Councilman, his girly, and her ex-hubby. Bill O'Reilly (the saint he is) and Glenn Beck(though effeminately incline, all republican man here) have it on the head, we need to have more restraints on our freedoms to really appreciate Christian morality.
