Donna Watts-Brighthaupt Responds To Barry Stalking Charges Being Dropped
This evening, City Desk reached Donna Watts-Brighthaupt to get her reaction to the U.S. Attorney's Office announcement that it has declined to prosecute the stalking case against Marion Barry. As everyone knows by now, Barry had quite the obsession with her. The obsession culminated in the councilmember getting locked up over the July 4 weekend on stalking charges. Watts-Brighthaupt spent much of this past week getting hammered by the Barry Machine as "unstable."
“I’m relieved it’s over," Watts-Brighthaupt says. "It’s a large price I’ve had to pay. I didn’t ask for this. I’ve learned such a large lesson in dealing with Marion. I’m not invincible. It’s unbelievable the type of person he is. But I wish him well. And I wish him good health. I’d really like him to do the best he can, do what he can for Ward 8 from this day forward.”
Do you think it’s possible he can be an effective councilmember? “No comment.”
Watts-Brighthaupt says that she had kept the recordings of Barry's declarations/pleas/long goodbyes not as payback. She says that he simply called so many times that she didn't even listen to them. She only started saving them in earnest after Barry began making trouble for her ex-husband Delonta Brighthaupt.
"My heart is so heavy," she says. "I worry mainly that I've disappointed my mom, family, and people that I truly thought highly of."
She goes on to say: "I knew how he was. I mistakenly thought I was invincible or that I could take the Barry machine….I think it’s a joke – the Barry Machine. But it’s not something I thought I’d have to deal with publicly. These things went on for a year privately. It strengthened me. It helped me to know what the worst person could be…..I’m now prepared. I’m going to take this as a life lesson.”
Watts-Brighthaupt says that she has no plans to file a civil suit against Barry. "Why bother?" she explains. "He doesn't have any money."
What would you do if Barry called again? “I guess he’d have to leave another voice mail."

This is a cautionary tale about Ms. Watts a SUPAFLY SISTER and Mr. Barry a DREAMER. She thought she was INVINCIBLE, because in Barry's eyes she was a P.Y.T., and she received MONEY from him. Barry hired her saying, "SHE DRIVES ME WILD", but wanted to keep their relationship IN THE CLOSET. When he planned to go to the convention in Denver, he asked, "WILL YOU BE THERE?" She said, "I'LL BE THERE". Barry took her to Denver and told her, "Be my GIRLFRIEND, be THE LADY OF MY LIFE. YOU ROCK MY WORLD. SAY, SAY, SAY, come and give me a THRILLER, cause it's in my HUMAN NATURE." She said, "LEAVE ME ALONE" and let out a SCREAM. Barry thought her response was OFF THE WALL, kicked her out of the room, making her feel like a STRANGER IN MOSCOW. Thus her experience was more like HEARTBREAK HOTEL than GOOD TIMES. Still, Barry knowing she was DANGEROUS, thought I CAN'T LET HER GET AWAY. So they kept their relationship going.
Then came that night at the Wilson Building, when Barry heard that she would bring her ex-husband to the viewing. Barry began to REMEMBER THE TIME when the ex- and he last spoke and felt THREATENED. He didn't want to get into "THE GIRL IS MINE" argument, so Barry drafted a letter and got him barred from the event, leaving Ms. Watts SPEECHLESS.
She wondered why Barry might WANNA BE STARTIN' SOMETHIN'. Barry thought she was just a HEARTBREAKER. Then July 4, 2009 came and after having some lunch together, thinking about spending time until the BREAK OF DAWN, Barry found himself dropped off at his car while she reconnected with her ex-husband. Barry felt a sense of TORTURE, wanted ONE MORE CHANCE, but was in a STATE OF SHOCK. He exercised poor judgment with his "WHATEVER HAPPENS" attitude and followed her like SPEED DEMON. Then got arrested for stalking and treated like a SMOOTH CRIMINAL.
Now Barry is WORKING DAY AND NIGHT, telling folks SHE'S OUT OF MY LIFE and wanting some PRIVACY. Now reports are coming out about their romantic HISTORY and they have both become TABLOID JUNKIES.

Sounds like she wanted some old madinga bur only got a flat tire! (LOL) She should have known that Barry was an old skool playa from way back. Hell we all know that. This goes back to been he was in the hotel that old girl back in the day and he said the ---ch set me up! Only this time he didn't let his sextoy set him up. Barry's too smart for that.
