You could actually take a drivers' test in a city-owned car? Really? I've never heard of such a policy in my entire life. For once they are doing something intelligent.

As others have noted, this is unheard of in the rest of the free world. You get a learner's permit, then you learn to drive using a friends' or parents' car. And take the test in the same car.

How are you supposed to get there... the same person who's been in the car with you while you learned to drive, as is LEGALLY REQUIRED, drives you there, stupid!

Most drivers (not all mind you) but most learn when they are 15 and therefore use their parents car. I don't know of any other jurisdiction other than D.C. that provided cars for driving tests. Not saying they aren't out there, but most do require you bring your own car.

Then, how are unlicensed drivers supposed to find a car to LEARN TO DRIVE IN? If they literally have nothing to drive, they can just file for a non-drivers ID from the DMV.

No other jurisdiction in the world provides cars for driver's license applicants to drive. This is just another example of how the District wastes money.
& Jeff, Nickles runs the town. Fenty is too stupid.

Isn't it a bit strange for an Attorney General to deal with issues of this sort? Or, is Nickels also the City Administrator now?
