I didn't understand that quote from Walters about getting people a check. Who was she talking to? Where is the "there" she was referring to? Jail? The DC Tax Office?

Suing Bank of America...C'mon. That is REACHING Mr. AG. So BoA is liable and should've been watching monies that a DC Official was duly sworn to dissiminate (albeit illegally, but she was still able to do it). Sue the Suntrust Teller for not discovering the inconsistencies sooner. Why not sue OTC as well, for negligence. Sue the Bic, Pilot, etc. company for making the ink that was used to endorse the checks.

LL, the Taxi link doesn't work. However, the WaPo commentor is wrong on this issue. I won't comment in detail but the medallion program won't ensure knowledge of the city or updated cars any more than the current system does. One note however, DC Taxicabs MUST be inspected every six months. If you are found hacking on a dead inspection sticker, you can face high fines. Now if the city can get more Hack inspectors out, then we can see how well this is enforced.
