D*mn Downtown Rez, that was cold. Maybe if he did, more businesses like that would pop up and help the tax coiffers and reduce the deficit.

The admin has determined they don't contribute economically and they're an unseemly blight. You won't see him holding a presser to praise the one or two massage parlors that don't cook their books or offer happy endings, either.

Willie Gary?!? He makes/made Johnnie Cochran look good. I wonder how many million he's suing Metro for?

The car lot crackdown probably was needed, HOWEVER, what is the Fenty Administration doing to SUPPORT these businesses. Not once have I seen or heard him talking to a compliant business extoling how they are setting a good example. Not that folks haven't figures this out already, but Fenty seriously wants to elminiate a large swath of these businesses altogether. Why? Even with the meager taxes he's getting from them, most of these dealerships are operating on major thoroughfares throughout DC. Not only that, but the Administration is still smarting from the DC DMV scandals with the temp tags, etc.

Fireworks again? Rubin & Co. will not rest until every firework is taken away from District residents. The irony of the story is that for the non-DINKs and non-NIMBYs, the mall display, though exciting, doesn't compare with personal displays. We're not a city of pyrotechnicians, but we (especially those with kids) love our fireworks.
