To clarify my point, I don't think any person should be denied rights based on their religion. Just that the religious right frequently justifies their point by saying homosexuality is a 'choice.' Well, as my gay friends say, nobody in their right mind would choose to be homosexual because of all of the hatred and discrimination they have to deal with. I think any church should be able to choose whom and whom not may be married within their church (that would include polygamy for Mormons) as long as it's between consenting adults. Let's let the churches decide whom they want to marry and give civil unions to the rest of us.

I like your passion for defending the truth. Remember, when arguing with gay supporters, there's no need lose your cool. All of their arguments are based on lies and distortions of the truth. They are like the foolish chess player who has boldly launched an all out attack against a solid defense. In the end, his position is weakened and he is ultimately defeated. Right now, they are enjoying their day in the sun, but they cannot avoid the inevitable truth for long. There WILL be an election. Each and every one of those DC council members will be shown the door as a direct result of the pro-homosexual agenda they have imposed against the will of the majority, all while denying them the chance to vote on it. The homosexual rights motto: "All we have to fear, is the ballot-box itself." If this is the kind of stuff hiding behind the Democratic banner, then now might not be a bad time to be a Republican. My bet's on the next mayor of DC to be a Black Republican. Any takers?

Well, the voters will probably vote against the LGBTs this time, but if we look at the trends it won't be long until the anti-gay movement is lumped with the white supremacists and other hate movements. (I give it 20 years). And also, if we are to deny people rights because of choices they make, I'd like to propose denying rights to people who choose stupid religions (that would be all of them).

Someone should check if he was (or is now) registered to vote in Md. It's likely publicly available info, same as DC's voter rolls. Also, I believe anyone can check DC and Md MVA records to determine whether someone is licensed to drive, and if so, where. If he's registered to vote (or drive) in a jurisdiction other than DC, that pretty well clinches the voter fraud case against him in DC, especially when combined with the other facts we know,

Rev. Jackson registered to vote by asserting he was a DC resident of the Whitman under penalty of perjury.

If he doesn't in fact live in DC -- and the DC Code looks to elements such as where he owns property (MD), where his family lives (MD), where he works (MD), and where he pays taxes and car is registered (not sure, but I'm guessing MD) to determine whether he truly does live here and intend to stay here indefinitely -- then he is guilty of voter fraud, which, by the way, is subject to a max of 5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

He's not just trying to illegal vote himself in an election -- he is attempting to serve as the primary sponsor of a referendum to overturn DC law. He is most certainly a public figure and, if The Blade's information is correct, and I believe it is, the Attorney General's office should open a criminal investigation into voter fraud.

The key issue that bears further srutiny is whether Jackson (his holiness) registered a bogus address to enable him to improperly advance his personal political cause in DC. All signs thus far point to something fishy. I'm undecided on whether his exact (claimed)address should've been published, so I won't choose sides just yet. By all means, though, follow up on his registration.

I love how Jackson and O'Reily are claiming that their rights are being trampled on, that they are the minority in this country. Did anyone catch that? It's absurd how this vicious, close-minded, hate-spewing idiots can play the victim card so well and get sympathy on top of it. It's a fact that Jackson is not a Washingtonian nor does he speak for Washingtonians or the majority of Black Washingtonians. The argument he's putting forward against the God-given rights of human beings to think and choose is so ridiculously hypocritical. No one invaded Jackson's rights. This guy is coming into our City claiming to be the moral authorithy yet has lied, cheated, and committed voter fraud in order to be this voice. Be real people. Recognize bull$hit when you see it...
