Good to see the Arch d' Chinatown getting renovated. It was eclipsed by the gawdy multi-media TV ads from the AT&T store, so hopefully some CHINATOWN character can return too. The plethora of Chinese restaurants died a slow and painful death ever since the MCI Center was built. At this point, calling it Chinatown is a misnomer.

The crime lab contract being withdrawn is somewhat of a shocker, especially after all the pomp and circumstance surrounding it. We'll be indebted to the FBI's lab and MPDC/DA's Office triage of what cases go there for years to come. CSI:DC...not anytime soon.

Because kids don't necessarily carry ID, nor get caught often enough under the current curfew [River Terrace, Brightwood Park, Petworth, etc. come to mind], why is Tommy Wells trying to separate 16 and 17-year olds from the enforcement mix? I guess folks don't remember years ago when kids had to be in WHEN THE STREETLIGHTS CAME ON!

Ok LL you have been following the crime bill issue so maybe you can tell your readers how this bill is supposed to decrease crime? I know we had tough gun laws and that didn't really work, so how is this bill different?
