Unorthodox Snow-Clearing Techniques

So far this morning I've seen people cleaning their cars with:

  • a paintbrush
  • a spatula

Also saw two guys on Columbia Road NW who'd put cardboard boxes over the windshield of an SUV and were shoveling snow on top of the cardboard. Not sure what was happening there.

How I cleaned the car this morning: Grabbed (1) Flexible plastic cutting board from the kitchen, which I used to scoop snow off of the hood, until I realized I needed something less flimsy for the windows. That's when I ducked into the car and grabbed (1) Nico Vega jewel case, which I used to try and scrape the ice off the trunk in order to access the ice scraper that Lilly swore her mom gave us. The case snapped in half--thank god the CD was in the car--and I then tried to kick the ice off the trunk, which worked fine until I slipped and injured my groin. At which point I returned to our apartment and disassembled (1) Swiffer picker upper, which, believe it or not, works as well as I imagine a real ice scraper would.
