Economic Stimulus. H.R. 5140, the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008, passed 385-35 on January 29, 2008 (Roll Call 25). It would provide about $150 billion in economic stimulus, including $101.1 billion in direct payments of rebate checks (typically $600) to most taxpayers in 2008 and temporary tax breaks for businesses. Creating money out of thin air and then spending the newly created money cannot improve the economy, at least not in the long term. (If it could, why not create even more money for rebates and make every American a millionaire?) The stimulus has no offset and thus increases the federal deficit by the amount of the stimulus because the government must borrow the rebate money. A realistic long-term stimulus can only be achieved by lowering taxes through less government and by reducing regulatory burdens.Marsha Blackburn voted FOR this bill.(Source: The New American – July 21, 2008)

Al Gonzales, you're postings are starting to make me feel the way I do about those truth.com commericals, "hey man enough already, I get it," how many times are you gonna remind us of Fenty's Kwame Kilpatrik-esque parties in those luxury boxes at the Verizon Center & Nationals Park! And really Fenty doesn't frequent sports games as often as you think, he spends many evenings at get togethers at the homes of potential campaign contributors: diplomats, developer friends in Bethesda and Ward 3 (sorry Mary Cheh you weren't invited.) Fenty saves hanging out in the boxes to kick it with his homeboys, drink brown liquor and discuss giving DC government contracts to their makeshift LLC companies. Mike, I heard the Washington Post is looking at you to replace David Nakurma, say it ain't so!?!?

Thanks for the evidence supporting my view that Fenty is dumb as a rock - “I think people have shown opinions.”
Uh ... OK. What does that mean? Yes, "people have shown opinions" is barely logical, but it's so awkward, borderline nonsensical, & completely without substance that it sounds like a quote from someone who's spoken English for only a year or so.
Now if he were ethical, Fenty still might make a good mayor, but he's obsessed with power, appoints only his friends to key positions, and lustily grabs every spare bit of public money or assets that he can his hands on, including keeping his luxury boxes at the Verizon Center & Nationals Park while closing child care centers.
