is there a conflict of interest in that the Director of Transportation is in charge of adminstering use of public space, which has a direct, immediate impact on Klein's street vending business?

UThinkThatsBad: "What until you get a load of who the Mayor has just appointed as the Department of Transportation Director. A boutique food vending manager "On the Go" who dabbled in an offshoot of retail rental vehicles "FlexCar". This city is headed for a world of hurt."

I just read the biography for Bridget Davis on the dc.gov website. And JoAnne Ginsberg should be insulted.

Ginsberg the former Fenty lobbyist and director of policy and leg affairs came to the table with over 10 years of DC gov experience serving as a chief of staff for a former councilmember, appointments to the DC Board of Ed by former Mayor Williams in addition to appointments on various council committees. Not to add that her husband Benjamin Ginsberg is a partner and lobbyist at Patton Boggs, Washington's largest lobbying law firm.

And Fenty replaces Ginsberg with Bridget Davis, a twenty-something with a degree in women's studies that has only been in Washington for a year?!?! Why can't this mayor hold on to qualified people and then replaces them with individuals who leave everyone saying WTF?!?!

Replacing Neil Richardson with Tene Dolphin and then sending Dolphin to clean up the massive mess of the summer job program. Dolphin a former school teacher with little to no administrative/management experience.

Due to Fenty's well known micromanaging the city loses the highly qualified former Dept of Transportation director Emeka Moneme and replaces him with someone that doesn't even have a quarter of the qualifications of Emeka.

I too am somewhat disturbed by the selection of both Sandler and Davis for such high level positions. They lack not only "showstopping resumes," but they are both extremely young, inexperienced and have no successes to speak for in their current positions. Quite frankly, much of Fenty's bullpen staff viewed the two as just being around "for decoration," because no one was exactly clear on what in the hell they did anyway.

More importantly neither Sandler or Davis has the tact or "umph" to tackle the unique dynamics of DC Government and its' residents. Davis was removed from the mayor's community relations division, due to not having thick enough skin to handle the demands of DC residents.

I believe Fenty's allegiance to both of these individuals is rich parents on one end and a relative that is in the Senate with the other.

Michael Brown Laissez le bon temps rouler!

Sandler has been in DC for all of 8 months - direct from LA! Her private family jet on loan to Fenty may have gotten her this appointment, no doubt!
