Study Finds D.C. Can Totally Read

A just-released annual study to name America's Most Literate Cities puts D.C. at No. 3, right behind Minneapolis and Seattle, which tied for first. The study by a prof at Central Connectictut State University finds, however, that when it comes to buying books over the Internet and subscribing to newspapers, D.C. completely kicks ass.     It's absurd to call DC a "literate" city when about 1/3 of the adults cannot read at a sixth grade level.

    I was going to cite the same statistic. This study drew on every measure of literacy, like newspaper sales, except for actual literacy rates!

    The bookstores are there for the 3 million people who commute daily from the suburbs. The 6 measures are not "Valid or Reliable".
