City leaders for a generation have allowed the DCPS to slide in to terrible shape. I vote to give Fenty (and Rhee and others) a solid chance to make change happen to benefit the children and families of DC. I understand from more recent WaPo articles that Gray wants to through some sand in the wheels of change. If so, I hope he recognizes that DC residents have put education reform at the ABSOLUTE TOP of their priority list. There could be a voter response to Gray's efforts if they are indeed focused on deferring needed changes.

Okay, so what's the point of the letter to Time?

The article Fawns over Rhee, but Gray doesn't mention it at all? Doesn't take time to task for anything in the article outside of their broad brush strokes on what was a VERY minor piece of the entire article?

This could be filed under, Me Thinks He Doth Protest Too Much! This sure seems as if Gray supports Rhee, I suppose that means Gray isn't exactly a friend to teachers. I sure wish there was more of an emphasis on parents in these "reform" efforts. I'm so glad that my kid made it out of DCPS with her sanity, one more year with some of the kids she had to be in school with might have pushed her over the edge and yet, there was never a teacher she came across that wasn't amazing (okay there was that one Spanish teacher, but her students pushed her over that edge).

Ugh, Rhee Fawning. It's just so hard to swallow and really isn't justified.
