A Bad Gift Idea Can Still Be a Good Idea
To wit, my new iPod case. After two soakings, it still works great. It might be a hard sell as a stocking stuffer, though.

I don't know if it'll work with the 4th-generation nano, but my 3rd-gen nano fits pretty neatly into an ID badger holder:
