I feel strongly that the 42 bus route should be expanded at least to go to Columbia Heights given all the new development, and perhaps a few blocks further to the Georgia Ave/Petworth metro stop (which would be better justified once more development occurs there).

Most bus routes travel north/south, unlike the 42 - which provides a great service by connecting neighborhoods on the red line (Dupont, Adams Morgan) with those on the green line (Mt Pleasant).

Some may say metro already provides the needed service of connecting the red and green lines. While changing trains at Gallery Place isn't that much of a hassle, what a bus route allows that a metro route doesn't, is the ability to hop off, hop on at several stops along the route, for running errands while commuting.
