Ugh, the old "won't you think of us poor wittle teachers, who just want to be able to drive wherever and whenever we choose." As I recall, Duke Ellington got a bunch of street parking dedicated to teachers just a few years ago (to the detriment of the neighbors, who had to move their cars from the spots at a very early hour).

Duke Ellington is very transit accessible. There are multiple bus lines that pass directly by the school. I wonder how much faster it even is to drive there (presumably from Maryland, where most teachers live) than it would be to take transit (it's certainly cheaper). If the teachers choose not to take the bus, I say let them suffer the consequence. This whole attitude that we just cannot expect civil servants like teachers to take transit is an attitude better suited for the suburbs.
