McCain/Palin Crowd Watch Vol. 1
I've had it with the hate speech and the McCain/Palin campaign's cynical us vs. them, pro-American areas vs. anti-American areas rhetoric. I'm all for a campaign of ideas. But they have unleashed a scary--yes, scary--force.
What's so wrong with Washington? More than half a million citizens live and work here. A lot of us work in the government Palin claims to despise. That means we take a job with lower pay--compared to say a job with Big Oil--because we like the idea of public service. We don't take six months off to race snow machines. If Palin hates Washington so much why does she want to work here?
Death threats are now part of our 24-hour news cycle. Along side death threats are the endless viral videos from McCain/Palin rallies where America's finest line up and spew hate into the nearest shaky handheld camera. The videos are chilling.
Via TPM:
And now tonight, Sarah Palin will laugh at herself on SNL. She will look like a good sport on a network whose reporters she refuses to engage. The press will still gush over her being a good sport. In the morning, she will go back to squawking about Bill Ayers, spreading lies (yes, lies), and spreading hate.
Ta-Nehisi Coates links to some news--the backlash among voters has already started:
"An ACORN community organizer received a death threat and the liberal activist group's Boston and Seattle offices were vandalized Thursday, reflecting mounting tensions over its role in registering 1.3 million mostly poor and minority Americans to vote next month.
Attorneys for the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now were notifying the FBI and the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division of the incidents, said Brian Kettenring, a Florida-based spokesman for the group."
Thank you, McCain-Palin. And thank you Fox News. Maybe it won't matter. Today, Obama attracted 100,000 people at one event.

Too true. Palin et al do not ask what they can do for their country. Rather, they behave as though anyone who does is a sucker to be played as anti-USA at their convenience.

This video actually made me cry. It's not going to matter who gets elected, I'll still be depressed knowing I share a country with such people.

Unfortunately, The McCain Camp has shown its true colors. It's going along with the GOP Politics of Division playbook. This isn't the change we need.

I don't get it, a bunch of hicks represent the entire McCain - Palin ticket now? In a country this big, you'll find nutjobs on both sides of the fence. I think it's an atrocity that national hero, and great man like McCain, should be made into some sort of villian just because a handful of idiots in some good aweful corner of the country act ignorantly. (I was born in PA, so I'm as qualified as anyone to say that.) At the very least balance it with some idiots from the left who don't stand in lines at their own events shouting idiotic things, but actively cause trouble at republican events.
Speaking of which, I never understood why liberals get the anarchist supporters, isn't that an extreme right wing idea?

Needed a good laugh Steve and this campaign trail ride is beyond all expectations every day in America, one could ever imagine for nine months ! It's boot camp on CNN !Have had my moments and this DC school situation and Rhee's reform with all due respect, reminds me of the Twilight Zone !Honest to God, have respect for them all running on a national level. Will get behind the one that wins !When you see the sun come up on politics you start to wonder if you're okay !You learn to duck and tuck !Shoot low boy's, their riding shetland ponies !Still not over that roll call for democracy and put my heart card on Clinton and have an ace on Obama ! McCain and Palin are respected but it's about the issues we all identify with on an independent thinking individualized basis ! Go Clinton ! In case of a national crisis her team is on it fast and organized proceedually and they rock ! Whoosh ! Go Obama and Biden and God bless you McCain and Palin !

Jason, you need to get a grip.
What's next? Are you going to make a video demanding that people stop picking on Barack!!!!!
When you've cleaned the Obama camp of thugs and brownshirts, maybe you'll have earned the right to complain about others. Until then, be advised we are not going to tolerate the thugish, violent, and terroristic behavior of Obama supporters any longer.

Steve, McCain was asked about the thugs and racists showing up at his events, and he said he was proud of them. And with by the robocalls he's defending, he can damn well be held responsible for the predictable outcome of his irresponsible messages.
