Will Strauss Debate the Shadow?

A few months ago, Damien "Lincoln" Ober launched a campaign to run as a Libertarian against D.C. Shadow Senator Paul Strauss. Ober, a film-maker, bartender and writer, saw the effort as a science-fiction art project. Which may have been why he took the challenge so seriously.

With the help of friends and D.C. Libertarians, he got his name on the ballot. Now he's in negotiations with Strauss to hold a debate. Strauss seems willing to cooperate. In August, he told the City Paper he would participate in a battle of words with Ober if the whippersnapper got himself on the ballot. Updates can be found here.

I'd rather see Paul Strauss debate Keith Ware of the DC Statehood Green Party. Ober's campaign is a cute gimmick, but little else.

Nikolas is ignorant. In these days where McBama and the Demwits and Republicrats are all ready to saddle the taxpayer with trillions in bailout debt to clean up the fiasco caused by the state monopoly currency system and its inflation, ONLY the Libertarians represent a critique and healing alternative

Ober has consistently shown himself to be intelligent, insightful and educated about the issues that concern DC residents--that he connects with voters better than Strauss is just icing on the cake.

Ober is a dangerous Ego Maniac who loves war and does not know when to stop, NOVA was the prize, the the square is complete, and now he wants Maryland? He MUST be Stopped, God help us in our Just Cause.
