Planet Earth Declares Biden Debate Winner

Valleywag points to a Time magazine widget listing the results of a poll asking folks who will win tonight’s watch-it-through-your-fingers-like-it’s-The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Vice Presidential debate. The rest of the world gives it to Joe Biden, 83 percent to Sarah Palin’s 17 percent. Even Alaska is on the same train as everybody else (78 to 22). Delaware goes to Biden, unsurprisingly—but at a full 100 percent. When’s the last time an election poll went 100 percent in one candidate’s direction? Even Alan Keyes got a few points against Barack Obama in the 2004 Senate race.

Granted, of course, that it’s a poll of internet users, and only 10 people in Delaware responded.

That very same Time poll, where Biden also got 100% in Vermont.

Of course, as Mark Athitakis points out, this is a highly unscientific poll, and Biden’s sweeps in Delaware and Vermont are based only on a baker’s dozen responses from each state.

What I want to know is, why does DC have to be lumped in with the “rest of the world”? Unlike everyone else in that group, we do get to vote in this election, right? At the very least they could have created an “American colonial possession” category, which we could share with Puerto Rico and Guam and the rest, who did get to vote in the primaries.

I agree with you cminus. D.C. should at the very least be treated as an American Colonial Possession.
