Fuego/Frio: A Conflict of Interest!

Erik throws a stone at his own glass house this week, pausing briefly to wag a finger at El Pregonero for some blatant above-the-fold fluff.

Kudos goes forth to Metro Weekly, the Washington Hispanic, and the Blade, while the New York Times is en fuego on general principle.

Watch closely, folks, to see the walls of Jericho come tumbling down!

    Careful with that wall, Erik.

It’s the paisley tie, man–it is to Wemple what spinach is to Popeye. I’m TELLING you. Dangerous stuff there.

  2. David Says:

    Classic!

What gives with the NYT fuego? So random…

It seems like Wemple gets more and more manic every week in these videos. Keep up the good work!

  3. Ernest Says:

Si, es Enrique, otro vez. He stays the course.

  4. Katie Says:

By rule, don’t you think that the last episode of F/F is also a conflict of interest?

In each, Erik’s clincher “review” is determined by his own personal relationship with the publication. Can he Frio himself for talking about his neighbor Chuck and then Fuego the Washington Post Magazine because the wedding-writer used to work for the City Paper?

Perhaps, to avoid future journalistic contamination, he should leave his LinkedIn angle out altogether.
