Just Sayin',

You wrote: "I seem to recall he was quoted as saying most of the folks he spoke with primary day were democrats."

Got a link?

I think you've got it backwards. A lot of Republicans are registered as Democrats because they want to influence the Democratic primary, given that the Republican often isn't competitive. This Republican is competitive AND he has the backing of Councilman David Catania.

Just Sayin,

You're mistaken. It is no surprise that Mara knew most of the Republican voters he met at the polls - he literally spent the entire summer (as well as late spring) personally knocking on the doors of thousands of DC Republicans. He was out there seven days a week. On Saturdays and Sundays he would literally spend the whole day knocking on doors. In the heat.

No, he didn't. I seem to recall he was quoted as saying most of the folks he spoke with primary day were democrats. And that makes good sense, given that the voters of even the most conservative precincts in the most conservative wards in this city are overwhelmingly Democratic.

Hey Just Sayin'

What you wrote makes no sense... Patrick only spoke with registered Republicans ahead of the primary.

"On election day, 90 percent of the voters who I met at the polls I already knew."
And, of those, 80% are (D) and won't vote (R)
