DC GOP Committee Chairman Kabel on Gov. Sarah Palin

Fresh press release from the DC Republican Committee:

“Gov. Sarah Palin (Alaska-R) is a reformer who has a reputation of bucking her Party for the common good. As Chairman of the DC Republican Party, I can say on behalf of all Washington Republicans we welcome Gov. Palin as our Party’s Vice Presidential nominee,” stated DC Republican Committee Chairman Robert J. Kabel.

Governor Sarah Palin is a tough executive who has demonstrated during her time in office that she is ready to be president. She has brought Republicans and Democrats together within her Administration and has seen approval ratings of over 80 percent.

-Gov. Sara Palin has challenged the influence of the big oil companies while fighting for the development of new energy resources.

-She leads a state that matters to every one of us — Alaska has significant energy resources and she has been a leader in the fight to make America energy independent.

-She has actually used her veto and cut budgetary spending. And she put a stop to the bridge to nowhere that would have cost taxpayers $400 million dollars.

-In Alaska, she challenged a corrupt system and passed a landmark ethics reform bill.

-As the head of Alaska’s National Guard and as the mother of a soldier herself, Governor Palin understands what it takes to lead our nation and she understands the importance of supporting our troops.

Kabel conveniently left out that approval ratings in Alaska don’t mean much. Especially since GOP Sen. Ted Stevens’ approval ratings were high enough for him to win the Alaska GOP primary, even in the face of a serious investigation. There’s also no mention of Palin’s opposition to gay rights and abortion. Then again, that stuff doesn’t poll so well with mainstream Republicans anymore.

But I suppose I could forget all that bigotry–at least until November–if I saw more photos like this one.

MIKE, WHILE YOUR ARTICLE READS QUITE WELL, YOU NEED TO BRUSH UP ON YOUR FACTS A BIT MORE. PALIN IS NOT AGAINST GAY RIGHTS, QUITE THE CONTRARY, THE FACT IS SHE AN AVID ADVOCATE FOR GAY RIGHTS, SHE JUST DOES NOT BELIEVE IN “GAY MARRIAGES”. BIG DIFFERENCE THERE - TAKE NOTES NEXT TIME! AS FAR AS HER OPPOSITION ON ABORTION, I THINK YOU WILL FIND THAT THERE IS MORE RESPECT GIVEN TO THOSE THAT ARE OPPOSED TO ABORTION THEN THOSE THAT ARE IN FAVOR OF ABORTION. THE INTENT OF ROE vs. WADE WAS NOT TO BE USED AS FREQUENT FLYER MILES! AS FAR AS YOUR VIEWS ON THE APPROVAL RATINGS, WELL THAT’S PRETTY MUCH COMMON SENSE - NO FURTHER COMMENT NEEDED.

Wasn’t all of the corruption in Alaska Republican corruption? Seems like Senator McCain might have been in position to stop that bridge and countless other projects.
